what do you use to secure your pcs? - Page 4

I installed sygate last night. I normally am forced to install a firewall eventually due to torrenting. After torrenting for X ammount of months your IP ends up on a lot of different tracekers, so even when my client is shut down i keep getting seed request. Eventually ur on enough that you start getting hit often, or like last night i had a bunch of request coming in at once which jumped my ping up high. I went with sygate becasue of what it is. It's purely a connection monitor. Monitors incoming\\outgoing connections and asks me to allow or disallow. Basically no resources used, and it's completly invasive. No bells, no whistles, just "checkpoint" for ip traffic to flow through.

I'm sorry that I don't have a bunch of posts, I'm new to this, and I've been doing a lot more reading thank writing. I mean, most of my questions are already answered, right? I was just looking for a little feedback on this product that I recently found, I'm not trying to spam anything.

I dont use a virus scanner

there is no point in using one

1) it never finds anything
2) waste of resources

Well after I ran BF2 and BF2142, with an Anti-Virus I got like maybe 30 fps constant, because of the AV. I took that crap off and its been off ever since.
