Unidentified Network - Local Access Only Issue

Thread Starter
Hello,

I have been looking in these forums in search for an answer to my problem.
I am currently running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit, I recently started recieving an unidentified network local access only message and have not been able to connect to the internet. I also have a laptop running Vista Home Prem. and Kaspersky Anti Virus there are no issues with it at all. I am connected directly to a cable modem via ethernet cable.

So far I have tried:
Renewing my IP address.
Entering my IP statically.
Uninstalling Kaspersky anti-virus (completely)
Dissable Windows Firewall.
Un checking IPv6 in Local Area Connection Properties
Setting my IP to be obtained Automaticly
Uninstalling my network controllers.
Disableing and enableing my network controllers.
Virtually everything you can imagine.

THis is a fresh install of Vista. I have been running it for about a week with no issues, then two days ago this happens. I bought this MOBO (Striker II Formula) because my old one (Striker Extreme) was doing the same thing, I thought my network adapter was bad. I was wrong!

I have been reading in many different forums about this issue and there are none resolved. So I turn to my old faithfull OVERCLOCK.NET members for help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Kerrdawg

Do you have SP1 one installed? Try uninstalling it.

I had that issue with my set up.. I had a Wireless card installed, and when both the wireless and eithernet networks were enabled I would get either Multiple or Unknown network warnings..

You don't have a wireless card, but you do have dual eithernet networks.. Try to disable the one that isn't being used.. It probably reads as "Local Only"..

Thats my limited network knowledge..

Good luck..

Sorry, missed that..

This being your second motherboard with the same issue, I would say run the usb cable from your modem to your pc and make sure your modem is at least running correctly.. You'll have to install the USB driver for your modem to do that..
