I really wouldn't rely on Quad-SLI ever again. After all, by the times games need the power, they'll be obsolete. 8800GTX SLI was the best buy ever.

The only good thing might be that the 8800 series get a nice price drop.

There go my upgrade plans. Looks like our worse fears have come true, the 9800GTX is no more than a 8800GTS overclocked with 3-way SLi support. To put into perspective how close the performance is to the GTS here's a Orb link to compare. Same CPU clock and tad over on the core and less memory clock on the GTS. Just for reference but the scores are only different by 2 marks! Let's hope the GX2 will redeem the 9-series, though I have my doubts.

Its just a G92 GTS with 3-way SLI at +$100 the cost, the stock overclock is meaningless considering you can push those past 800MHz just on a regular G92 GTS

Glad I got the GTS, or should I say, GTX now

oh well, I'll wait for new drivers and then start looking for new benchmarks

At least I misread the step up date, I've still got another month w00t!

so THIS is the 8800ultra g92! Nvidia got their releases mixed up! I'd rather have a g92 gts, UNLESS the 9800gtx proves to be a killer overclocker!
