My WD just failed today. Chkdsk reports multiple errors.

Seagate for me, never had any problems with them and a 5 year warranty sealed the deal.

Yeah, WD is quiter but not till I tested the Samsung F1 drives... Even though mine's using an older 250GB per platter drive (750GB), it's still fast.

But I have a feeling that with the latest WD offering with 320GB per platter drives, it's a toss between Samsung and WD in terms of performance and noise.

Either Seagate or Western Digital. If you want speed, go with a Western Digital Raptor drive. Otherwise, the Seagate drives are pretty reliable and inexpensive.
