Well, thats true, they had to use aluminum since they knew it was gona be as hot as a oven. I cant wait for someone to touch it while they are testing 3dmark and they sue nvidia cause they seriously burn themselves ...since with aluminum it will not melt but get hot lol...you can tell when plastic gets too hot lol..it melts

Overcoming the heat issue is simple and it starts with using a workstation/server case - not the flashey cases with windows and laser lights that provide a miniscule amount of air flow.
As for cooling the GPUs, I think we all know how to do that.

HOLY ****!!!
those cards are sexy!
cooling definately is gonna be a huge issue unless you get some freakin airliner turbines in there!
whats the expected temp for them to run at? (non-overclocked)

It is....EVGA showed there Black Pearl Edition at Cebit.

Quote:
EVGA had two cards on display. One reference card and one Black Pearl edition. If you know you're EVGA, you know that this means water cooling from factory. The price remains in the shadows, but we can only guess that it would add another $100 or so to the already high price.

.... what about the 7950GX2, was there any good aftermarket cooling available? On air I mean.

Even if there wasn't, I'd expect it to emerge with the 9800GX2... especially if the performance is there.
