Other posiblity is that whatever you installed messed with mobo's drivers , when motherboard's drivers are somewhat different it should BSOD.

Here is an example of the error msg. The code is that long thing (I would think as I was getting this error before--maybe 2 times), and that was what I was looking for when I needed help. Hope this helps.

And here are the definitions of some common error codes!

I would suggest that too.

I haven't had the opportunity to use Vista much but I know XP creates minidump files when there's a BSOD. If you have access to another computer (which I'm assuming you do since you're posting here) you can copy the dump files to that system and analyze them. That should tell you what's causing the problem, or at least point you in the right direction. Have a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263

You could try a single stick of your RAM in slot 1 just to try and illiminate any memory issue. I had a similar error a couple of days ago after a restart (with that same error code) and it turned out a stick of reasonably new Corsair ram had died on me

reset your cmos and boot into safe mode. if that works you can start by reloading the offending drivers

Take a look at this:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330182

Do you have any backups of your computer? Did the game you installed make any changes to your computer, i.e. new drivers, etc.

I would try and get into your computer in safe mode and remove any of the unsigned drivers they are talking about. When I had this happen to me it was because I was using a poorly written beta driver for my video card (this was a while ago). I removed it to a stable version and it worked fine.

The reason I ask about the backups is because I have gotten this message before when I had a bad hard drive.
