Prime should never fail under a stable overclock even after 12hours. Your overclock is very unstable.

Probably need more voltage to your CPU.

ok thanks ...but now ik why I hav never run memtest before ...I cant get it to boot into memtest from dvd or jumpdrive i dont think I am loading it properly either but it just makes me angry

it might unstable but has never failed in real world conditions including 3dmark06 or anygame or 3d rendering or anything I use my computer for on a daily basis so I dont deny its unstable just the stability I have is great enough I can run any app other than torture tests

if anyoone could i just need a lesson on installing memtest ..i know I feel dumb too

Umm.. I thought you made this thread because you were blue screening, AKA instability. That BSOD is because your CPU is unstable.

All 3 Prime95 tests NEED to be stable for ATLEAST 6 hours.

to be honest I don't know what the blue screen is for but I suspect my memory is faulty because as I raise the FSB my DDR2 increases and after 336 FSB it becomes unstable ...majorly .... but I think its my RAM because it did the exact same thing with my old E6600

BSOD only occurs @ 350FSB or higher... I should have clarified

No offense, but until you actually stablize your current overclock in prime95 for atleast 6 hours than theres no use troubleshooting that bsod.

is it the same motherboard? it could be FSB instability, however unlikely the might be.

your retarded.... if your memory was bad your computer wouldn't boot. people have stated that your overclock is unstable, not to mention that you dont run your tests long enough. your computer is trying to tell you that somehting i suggest you listen.

+ booting form memtest cd is a no brainer. half the time it does it for you, the other half of the time you need to set it up in your bios or set it to boot off of the cd (hit f12 at start-up).

First off. If your CPU is unstable, memtest86+ will likely detect errors in your ram because of your CPU. So... running memtest86 in this condition would be pointless.

Run the small FFT test in prime95 for 6 hours, if you pass then its not your CPU. If you fail than it is your CPU. Theres no use running memtest86 on a unstable CPU overclock. If you don't pass than this issue is likely caused by your CPU, not your ram. Small FFT only tests your CPU.

I'm sorry but if you can't listen to the advice we give then why even bother posting? Do what is highlighed in the bold, and stablize that. Unstable ram is not going to cause small FFT to fail unless it is highly unstable, since you can game for 10hrs your ram is most likely not the issue.
