Money burning a hole in my pocket...please help - Page 2

Lolz yes I can and will do that (just sent them back yesterday) =P I had until today to send them back for credit but wanted to be safe and get them out. Kinda bummed based on what the supposed specs on the new cards will be however.... but much like anything it would appear speculation only and not real time bench tests. I guess I'm trying to hold faith that Nvidia wouldnt discontinue the Ultra's for a lesser solution!?!? Hope not anyways-

Well from a performance stand point it's hard to really attain....in theory 2x GX2's should be faster than TRI SLI Ultras considering the GX2's are said to use a newer Shader Generation

From a thermal perspective the GX2's are likely to be better, Ultra's use much hotter G80 cores than the G92.

From a power consumption standpoint 2x GX2's will be less than that of TRI SLI Ultras, again because the GX2 uses a more energy efficient GPU's.

Don't mean to be so antsy but a couple of reasons wanting to know in anticipation of the cards on the 18th. 1. afraid of the initial backorder and 2. They have been talking about these damn cards release date since last October/November!! Grrrrrrr

There's no harm in waiting until both are fully reviewed, then the best choice will be obvious.

When I ran the bench test on Very High with AA off I want to say i hit 40-41avg fps... i took a SS of it on my old posts. I guess I honestly was expecting more outa 3 Ultra's. However affter reading other's that have posted thier FPS I think 40FPS was quite impressive.

Thanks for the suggestions...

I suppose i can always purchase the 2 9800gx2 on release and if the 9800gtx's are better in tri I could always return them.

Thanks for the thoughts-
