Personally I think you should wait till the end of the month when the GTX is supposed to come out and tri-sli it, I think the GX2s are going to have major thermal problems and will basically fail, while the GTX will be much more manageable, and have you considered quadfire? CrossfireX looks like its the real deal and even though SLI has made some serious advances in gpu scaling, CFX has raised the bar again. I wouldn't be surprised if the new revision of the 3870X2 in CFX completely outperforms QSLI 9800GX2s.

Fail or PHAIL? heh, i'm just messing, but i think scooby is getting excellent advice.. Speed probably won't increase by a tremendous amount, but the heat produced will almost make it worth while based on that alone (though there's also technologies and the fact that you're effectively running SLI on one card, allowing to do dual monitors with such power. Smart Purchases FTW!

And as for Crossfire, it looks mighty pretty right now.. if I didnt write on CUDA and render with Gelato, thats where i'd be (i'm a whore for GPU processing.. i know)
