Mirco ATX for overclocking gamer - Page 3

to the op, i know for a fact that the biostar 7025 will not support the phenom at all and i'm pretty sure the 690g won't either. they just don't have a bios out yet that will offer phenom support. i would go with the gigabyte but by staying with a Matx setup your really limiting your motherboard options.

so to answer your original question go with the Gigabyte board

i am getting the AMD with the most ass out there and its as simple as the phenom.. so unless something that AMD makes in desktop can push more power... im all for it.. but every bit of research says the phenom is under the 6600... barly... and price/performance the phenom wins out simply because of the mobos.. u intel people pay more for the mobo then the chip... its just not right... somebodys gettin screwed.. and it aint the manu's
There's plenty of cheap Micro-ATX Intel boards..here.

I bet you are comparing the phenom vs Q6600 at stock. The Q6600 can OC better than the Phenoms at the moment and that will make a huge difference.

i always compare to stock..

if u start to compare overclocks.. then there are too many variables between cooling and power.. and board... and ram... so stock is an easy comparison..

so this build is simply about the best AMD has to offer at this moment.. and every benchmark i see.. the quad kills any duel out there.. so... im getting the best quad they have..

Trust me, an Intel Quad is way better than any AMD duel core.

Why do more people have a Q6600 than a Phenom..? Because it is superior in OCing and performance..

Let the man get what he wants not everyone needs the fastest. Budget wise his pic makes sense, and really quad core is not that much software supported anyways.

Some people say MicroATX mobo's not good for OC. But my sig rig is a counter-evidence for that opinion. I had to buy this Mobo and I didnt know I shouldn't but by chance it OCs really good. May be you should search for Gigabyte am2+ microATX boards. Though I'm not sure if my board is an only exception. I hope this info helps you
