Im in a pickle, cant decide. What do u think?

Thread Starter
So this past january me and a friend (mcogan10) built this rig. and i got a 8800gtx, now my plan was to sell my 8800gtx to another friend who was looking to sli his for about 350. And then i was gonna get the new 9800gtx, and possible 2 of them so i could sli. Only problem is now the 9800gtx looks like crap. So there are a few options here 1)i could sell my 8800gtx and then get either the 9800gx2, or the ati dual gpu card. 2)I could buy another 8800gtx after a price drop. and get them in sli. 3)or i could wait until next year and get the next series of gpus. I would have alot more money by then and dx11 would be out. Do u think 1 8800gtx can hold up for another year?

wat do u think i should do?

also money is not a concern of mine here.

You've only got a 24" screen - isn't a single 8800GTX enough? I would say stay with it TBH...

just sell the GTX it has been taken over by the GTS 512 and the HD3870x2. Sell it now before prices drop even more

If you're using a 24" then you definitely need SLI/CF for those high resolutions. Since you have a 780i your best bet would be to wait until the GTX price drops and SLI them, because if you aren't a total graphics whore they will easily last you another year. Your other option is to sell it and get the 3870x2, since it will certainly perform at higher resolutions, although this way the performance wouldn't be as good as SLI GTXs and you wouldn't be able to CFX them.

I say you should wait for nVidia to get their act together, because it looks like this year they haven't just dropped the ball, they've kicked it into their own net.

Stick with the single 8800GTX. It plays every game that will me out smoothly without issues... In maybe 6 months to a year update the and get a new card because the 8800 will be about midrange I suspect by then.

Hope this helps.
