Hey there Lester, what part of the UK are you from?

Nice setup you have there, and don't let the bird spend your hard earned cash for you! If you want a new piece of hardware, get it

Enjoy your stay matey, if you go to User CP at the top of the page. Go to 'Add System' and put all your info in there.

thanks iced earth for the info on pinning my stats to my posts... i'd email u a pint if i knew how... and as for the buget/bird comment we all have our hold backs and mine stupidly was i told her i built it for her... to play pogo on af all things!... go figure... still it needs an upgrade or 2 its at least 6 months old!... most of the hardware was housed in a nsk1300... but she got a little to warm for my liking... and no, the pro 7 didnt fit in it i had some akasa thing in there that made to much noise...

It sounds like how I got into custom building/ overclocking. I used to have a Dell that I did so many upgrades to I needed to buy a new case to house it all in. After swapping out my motherboard and virtually everything else I had, I decided to give that one away and build myself a PC from the ground up.

The rest, as they say, is history.

You told your bird you built it for her That is definitely a bad move J/K

As long as your both happy with the system then it doesn't matter. Not everyone wants/needs the latest hardware. I certainly don't need any of this stuff anymore, but i have it now.

Same here, i bought a HP Pavillion for £500 and started playing CSS. First bought a GPU then realized by PC was still poor. So i started replacing everything. Within a year of owning the Pavillion the only thing i still used of it was the HDD. The rest was either in the bin or given away I guess that's what happens when your a noob.

for me it kinda went like this....

back in '95 my celeron 233/32MB/3.2gig (onboard everything) blew the cpu and it took the mobo with it... sooo... i my mum (i was 15) said "your good at fixing stuff... fix it" (i was the man of the house, my father was'nt around) so got a screw driver and opened it up, had a look... then ask my mum for £100 ($200 USD) and went down to a local pc shop and ask fo a new mobo and cpu (everything onboard) and he suggested an AMD k6 and some unknow board... so got home hooked it up reinstalled Win95.. and astounded every1 with the fact it worked... only prob is... i havent stopped....
