post #1 of 11
Thread Starter
I keep on getting this message when I start up windows. I used the windows driver wizard but the driver it found was causing some problems. I'm pretty sure i need a driver for like HDMI audio or something. I probably won't use it but having the driver'd be nice.

Tell me where to find this driver

Windows found some ATI audio bus before

go START, RUN, msconfig

STARTUP TAB
uncheck startup entries to your liking, Close, REBOOT

that's it!

Yea but I don't want to just eliminate the popping up and lose some functionality from my video card, could someone give a link to drivers.

www.ati.com <== drivers
there's many ATI programs that load into your startup. Have a look and you'll see what I mean. You can always put the CHECK back in the box if something doesn't load right.

I had this same issue. I think the only place to get that driver is right from MS. I was using a corp version of XP that didn't have the extra HD audio drivers. It is only if you plan to use the audio portion of HD from the GFX card. I never installed it and had no issues. I'll see if I can find specifics on it.

Is this what you need?

if you have not installed sp3. download kb88111
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111
then install drivers from ati site.
Or disable it in device manager if you not going to use it. It will not effect your video card.

Check MS auto update, should be listed under optional hardware updates.
