that ems to be a misconception. it doesn't fuse them together. I just tore my system apart just a few days ago and it was just fine. now I will be honest it saying it seeps into the metal and stains it but doesn't fuse the metals together.

I really want to try OCZ freezy, but does anyone know if it's as easy to spread as AS5? The only reason I use AS5 is because it is so easy to spread a dab of it around. It's a pita to spread Tuniq TX-2 imo, otherwise I would use that.

Sorry, I worded that wrong. It doesn't fuse them, but it can leave a pad that is rather hard to remove.

With an introductory price of $4.99 I think I'll give the ICD7C a try soon.

even then it was easy to remove the surface stuff. I just took a paper towel and wiped it right off just like any other TIM. BUT... it does seep into the metal itself and so stains the metal. this can not be removed unless you sand the heat sink and HIS. but then again unless you are trying to get warranty work wouldn't be a problem as it doesn't cause problems with the contact as it is more of a stain then anything.

Well it will not come up as $4.99. It keeps saying $6.99 when I check out.
That and it is $4.90 shipping.

It is supposed to be some good stuff though.

TX-2 is slightly better than MX-2, and is dead even with shin-etsu. AS5, though is not as good as any of them. Thus the order looks like this

TX-2 = Shin-etsu > MX-2 > AS5 > Ceramique
