Thread Starter
Ok, I decided to try the AI suite software and "levelup" my CPU, and I set it to Q6700. Now my pc keeps restarting after I get about 15 minutes into game, I tryd to set it back to normal. But after I restart it it sets it back to Q6700, I tryd to uninstall the software, nothing happens so I tryd to install it agin and the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you properly put on the thermal interface?

37*C isn't hot at all. I don't think the problem lies with the processor and heat but with the software utility you tried using. I never used Windows-based ulitities for overclocking (nor should you) so I don't know if they have the ability to override what has been set in the BIOS. Are the shutdowns abrubt or do you get a BSOD? Go into your BIOS and get an idle temperature reading just to make sure. Do the crashes happen only in gaming or heavy load or has it happened during idle as well?

Interesting though, that Q6600 should take 2.66 without ANY voltage increases.
