If you use Rivatuner, you can lock your gpu fan @ 100% to help deal with temps..and try to shoot for ~100+mhz core OC. Even the G80's can reach those clocks on stock volts/cooling.
I have RivaTuner and I'm looking around in those settings... I don't know what to do yet but I'm gonna try to search some more on the forums to see what I can find. Thanks for the help.

Btw, my Q6600 is a G0 so I know thats better than the B3 and I'm gonna look on how to OC that some.

i'm surprised no one's mentioned the fact that if he goes SLI, then he can only run one monitor. (he's got two in his sig)

*something to think about*

Get them OC'd!
The G80 8800 GTS is not dead yet, I think I will hang on to mine a while longer until the performance of the 9 series is firmly established.

Only one monitor in SLI? How come? I'm not going to do that if that's the case...

On another note, I figured some of RivaTuner out and I'm about to overclock and I was wondering for the people that have this card what is safe to overclock to? And when people say test in small increments, how do you know when it's not performing well? Slow down in the computer? Graphics glitches? I just want to know so I know when it's happening.

Right now it's core clock is at 576 and shader clock is at 1350 and memory clock is at 900. So any idea as to what is safe to go to? Thanks.

*edit: I just re-read again and I saw around +100mhz for core OC.

Who knows why these companies do what they do? but the only way to go dual monitors is buy a THIRD (no G80 cards) and stick it in your 8x slot on the board. Then you can run two more monitors off that.

for your gpu, the core should be able to hit 630 core, ~1550 shader and 950 memory easily on stock cooling.. good luck!

*EDIT* As far as stability, download ATI tool and run its artifact test for 20 mins or so (give it a few hours when you think you've reached your final OC)... yellow pixels showing up on the furry cube animation mean you've gone too far

Yup it's true. Take it form someone who has two monitors.
SLI is not for you.
Just OC your card using rivatuner, and get the CPU to atleast 3.0Ghz (pretty easy)

BTW. Only crossfire allows dual monitor and dual card setups, which is why my next card will be an ATI.
Almost done...

Only in crossfire.
This has been a limitation of SLI since the beginning, and nVidia has no plan to fix it currently.
