What to do? OC or SLI? - Page 4

overclock your card.

overcloking the cpu will give you better score in benchmarking software but probly wont give you as large increases in game. plus its a hassel to get it all stable and rite esp wid a large overclock to 3.2ghz. 2.2ghz core 2 duo would cause a bottleneck in your game performance but not 2.4ghz core 2 quad. .......from what ive read n e ways.

if your new to overclcoking and reall wanna do it take the cpu to 2.8ghz and you probly wont need to change voltages. it all depends on your motherbpard. ive got a nvidia 650 and i know 2.8ghz is probly the limit as they dont overclock that well. P35 is what you want

Tried SLi and got tired of it. Since I ditched it, I grabbed an old Dell LCD and hooked it up as a secondary and I love this new feature more than some expensive added fps.

I'll try to OC the CPU a bit and see what that does. I've pretty much decided that I'm not gonna go SLI just because I want to keep my dualies. On another note, at those settings that I OC'd the video card with I was getting some weird stuff in 3dm so I'm not sure if that's because of not overclocking the cpu or because the card cant OC that much.

easy answer to a easy question. do both
Im running 2 8800gt's in Sli, and oc'd my q6600 to 3.2 and ive seen a massive improvement in frames in crysis and overall graphical performance plus a nice 3dm '06 score so ideally do both. Also i run a second monitor, so it's simple, use ntune and set it to enable sli before gaming etc, and then disable sli for running a 2nd screen, it's simple and only requires a few clicks! no biggie!
