A case for something else? It's so thin...

Why would you use a Mac Air though? You can't fit any explosives in that

I figure someone would go for an Alienware Area51m or something with the internals ripped out of the MBA. Tons of space in that monster.

Why would you spend over 5k on a laptop, just to rip out the internals and use it as a bomb?

Looks like a clever marketing trick too, "hey you know we've got this laptop here, no ports and no drive, what gives mate? First laptop we've seen, lets report this!" And wham, news about the Macbook go around.

It's common sense.
thats exactly why they'd make it look out of the ordinary

funny security guards, funny apple for making a pointless product...
...and then flat-out lying about it being the thinnest laptop. For shame...

If I was intent on killing a bunch of innocent people and myself in the process, yeah...

So that sounds like most suicide bombers to me

Very valid concerns by the TSA, but once it booted up there shouldn't had been a problem.

OBTW. AFAIK there are paper-thin explosives out there that would probably rip a hole in the side of an aircraft.

Now let's see if I get a visit from Mr.G-man after this post. And no, not the dude from half-life

If there are people who would use mentally retarded women to blow up pet shops, I'm sure there are people who would spend big bucks on a laptop to blow it (and people) up. It's sad but true.

Pointless, no. And it is the thinnest laptop.

I would love to see someone fit anything in a macbook air that could be dangerous to the country... why not use like, a toughbook so you have more space..... I'd be warry of bigger laptops for those suspicions.
