Thread Starter
I want to play counter strike source in a 16 bit. I run an amd athlon xp 2400+ 2.0GHz Nvidia GeForce 4 440MX. I get like 15fps in de_inferno. When I put to 16bit, I get 20-40. But wen I scope with the awp, i get like some **** on my scope that looks like dirt, how can i fix it? I want to run in 16-bit

I hate to be a douche. But either upgrade your rig or play cs 1.6

1.6 is still a great game and your rig will handle it better.

Well do you have AA turned off? I had an MX420 and it would play Half Life 2 on medium with acceptable performance.

I honestly don't think cs:s was written to use 16 bit well, it was probably more of a safe mode than an alternative color depth. The original hl engine was around when 3dfx was still churning out cards, so they had to write the game to use that mode well, along with 32 bit. In all honestly, there should be little performance difference between the two, as I think the lines blurred with the introduction of the RivaTNT. I'm also fairly certain the MX420 is just beefed up GeForce2 architecture with SDR ram. I guess what I'm trying to say is upgrade that card.
