E8400 and P5N32-E SLI Overclock

Thread Starter
Hey Guys I really need some help here. I would really like to know the best way to oc this chip. I want to be careful on it because this is a customers computer and he wanted overclocked. Is it possible to get 4.0ghz on an Ultra Chilltec. On stock its sitting about 26C which I think is phenomenal. But anyway, any suggestions?

no not 4.0GHz maybe 3.5GHz I don't want to tell you something that will fry your chips
3.6GHz Max probably Guys prove me wrong if I am wrong but if you are a decsent OCer then 3.5GHz Is Probably phesable but With mine I don't want to raise it because mine is my only one which I can never replace so I would recommend 3.5GHz

4GHz is possible just make sure that you do not go above 1.4v on the vcore as the chip will die pretty much soon after
post #4 of 17
Try not to go over 1.4V, temperature is not an issue at all with these new chips. So be careful on Vcore. I've heard about several E8XXX series chips gone for overvolting. I hope this info helps

I Love these 1.4v statements! I'm constantly over 1.4v and going strong. Long live misinformation!

Not really misinformation since a couple of users on this forum have had their chips go dead after a couple weeks of usage at over 1.4V.

You are not going by what the digital read out say's are you? Cause that 26C means nothing on the display. Check out my temps and I always read 24C to 27C on display You will need to check what's going on in bios and using a dedicated temp reading program like tat or something.
