Need help with Vdrop and Vdroop. (pencil mod)

Thread Starter
Hey all I had done the pencil mod to my 680i motherboard about 2 weeks ago and got very good results, but then my q6600 died, and after getting the new one my Vdroop and Vdrop are back, I have since tried to wipe off the pencil lead and have tried to re-apply the mod several times, but it doesn's change my voltage at all. What could be the problem? I just flashed to the P32 bios. I have my vcore set at 1.35 in bios and CPU-Z reads it at 1.312 at idle and 1.280 with prime 95 running.

Should I just keep re-applying the pencil mod until i get it to work or what?

maybe it doesn't work with the CPU or Chipset?

The mod does work, but the best way is to use a digital multimeter so you know you have it correct. No resistance could have contributed to the death of your Q6600 via a voltage spike...
