so it's just an external blu-ray player? i could go out and buy a blu-ray player for about $200 why would i need this useless crap? this is as much of a gimmick as their HD DVD player, or their quick battery charger.

Anyway, why can't people use their HDD's on their console to keep local content?

I don't think the 360 has much to worry about. It's still a good piece of kit.
Lost Odyssey is 4 discs, and I'm pretty sure most if not all of them are game discs. I couldn't believe that when I first opened it up.

What world are u living on. By that you are saying Sony should of have never made the PS2 with DVD cause PS1's Cd was enough space to even hold PS2 games. Better games get more space then need. Look at PC games they are like 12GB and only used to be like 1.2HB 4-5 years ago.
how long did we use cds for gaming ? and long have we been using dvds ? and now dual layer dvds. pc games are 12gb ?

I'll go through my games. Supcom is 8.51gb
World in conflict is 4.5gb
CS S+TF2 is 8.76gb
and company of heroes is 4gb

yes i understand they are installed and thus use less space. But most pc games are single disc. So do you honestly believe games like mgs4 NEED more than 50gb ? No it doesn't but kojima was bull****ting. Unless we see mgs4 on more than one blu ray disc. But yea blu ray is good for having an assload of extras on it.

They aren't screwed, there are quite a few titles available for HD-DVD, and you can probably expect to pick them up dirt cheap now.

No, thats not what he's getting at. And PC games dont use 12GB . Its about compression. You compress the files, and you CAN do lossless compression, which means no loss of quality. This goes back to the game engine really. A good engine will be able to compress the game files compactly and still retain the quality. Thus why games can be put onto DVD's for the Xbox and look just as good as the PS3 version.

Not really. Its USB, so you can hook it up to your PC, so you get more for that.

omg. wth are you going on about now? How are they screwing over their customers? It only makes sense to back the winner. What you're saying is sony screwed their customers over by supporting VHS after betamax lost.
