Did you install all the updated drivers for your system?
owner's manual:
http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...1/en/index.htm

driver's:
http://support.dell.com/support/down...WW1&hidlang=en

Wild guess what system you have, if incorrect navigate to correct one.

yea kpo i just realised that i needed to get new drivers cos im on vista, i sorted it now i installed new dirvers everythings cool so relieved!

BUT what i dont get is why did the XP drivers work with vista for like 30 mins, then just suddenly 'go' and leave me with a good 20% decrease in display brightness?
