Excuse me, what? How does that work? I'll believe you if you can prove it, otherwise, that's a false statement.

I love playing at high res (my monitors native is 1680x1050) but in Crysis that res with everything on med/low is still mostly unplayable with frame rates dipping into the single digits frequently. I have to set my res to 1280x800 and the rest to medium to make it playable. So...

My question is, if I'm going to upgrade my graphics card would it be a good idea to do it now or to wait for something better. I've read a bit about the 8800gts (g92) 512 and I'm hoping they're good for higher res's (as opposed to the 8800gt or 8800gts 640). Also, in terms of the 8800gts(g92) how much would brand matter. I've seen the prices on XFX, evga, and BFG vary.

Thanks for the help!
Yeah man I use one myself and my second card is on the way...it works fantastic. My sig rig with a single card can do Crysis at 1680x1050 with everything on High, Physics on Very High, Vista x64 with DX10. 35fps

well, if you consider 10FPS to be playable, a single GTX is enough to do 16xQAA on Crysis

1680x1050, 16xQAA, all very high, no tweaks: benchmark: 7FPS
1440x900, 16xQAA, all very high, no tweaks: ~10FPS

shows how much 8800GTX still pwns doesn't it?

anyway, in answer to original question, yes 8800GTS G92 is the best card to get, currently. i would have gone for it if i could wait for this long.
