I currently still have a GTS 512 and it works pretty well except for Crysis, I usually have to have settings mostly on medium when at 1680x1050. As for specific brands, it would SEEM as though eVGA would be the best choice, but no real evidence suggests this.

I have to set my res to 1280x800 and the rest to medium to make it playable. So...

My question is, if I'm going to upgrade my graphics card would it be a good idea to do it now or to wait for something better. I've read a bit about the 8800gts (g92) 512 and I'm hoping they're good for higher res's (as opposed to the 8800gt or 8800gts 640). Also, in terms of the 8800gts(g92) how much would brand matter. I've seen the prices on XFX, evga, and BFG vary.

Thanks for the help!
I run almost the same system as you but with an 8800gt. I play crysis on all high (no aa) at 16x10. 30-40 fps always in firefights... 50 when walking or taking on 1 or 2 at a time. Final fight never dropped below 30.

IMO, the only difference in brand is the warranty they provide.
