They're both P35 boards with advanced BIOS options, so overclocking is going to be comparable. The DDR3 is really the same issue, but there isn't ever going to be a Socket 775 processor that meaningfully takes advantage of DDR3, and even if there was, the P35 chipset (or any other currently available chipset) wouldn't be able to run at a high enough FSB to make it work.

DDR2 is fast enough for any reasonable-budget computer, and will be at least until Nehalem and on-die memory controllers. DDR3 is bragging rights.

Also, I like my DS3L. I do agree with the suggestion that you check out the ABIT IP35-E however, because it is even cheaper for comparable performance. If I was going to add another suggestion it would be the DFI bloodiron, which maybe gets slightly higher FSB than the Gigabyte.

The ABIT IP35-E is about the same price as the DS3L in the UK

Hmm

Still kinda stuck on what to choose...the heatpipe and black PCB do look good on the P5KC, never owned anything with a black PCB... lol, but then again the money saved would be nice [DS3L] So i can get other things... [Such as a full cover 8800GT WC Block]

Sounds like that's about right to me.

Runnin the DS3L at 400x9 = 3.6ghz with the g0. I'd probably pick the other to make room for GDDR3 if you're a big spender, otherwise, this motherboard has been my favorite of all time so far. PM me if you have any specific questions about it, official thread in my sig.

LAME

That is the reason i wanna go Intel lol, OC Me ram! Ratio's n stuff

Hello DS3L

Gotta hand it to Gigabyte though, i do LOVE the Skittle Puke Design [SPD]

I mean, it would only be a matter of time until the P5KC heatsinks came out to be watercooled anyway...

Thanks for the help guys
