C2D E6600 2.4Mhz Question

Thread Starter
Hi there, I am running the above mentioned processor on an MSI 975X Platinum Mobo with a Freezone by Cool it Systems, at the moment my clock is set at 311x9@2.85 GHz and CPU Voltage at 1.21, Muschkin Memory is left at Auto at 667 Mhz, bus speed is at 311 MHz, FSB is at 1240Mhz, for some reason I can not get it to go any higher than 2.8 GHz, CPU is running at 7c no load and 10-12c full load using PC wizzard 08.

More voltage, 1.21 isn't going to do anything, surprised you got that high actually

and you think bumping up the voltage will do the trick, what are the negatives "side effects" of bumping up the Voltage on the Core, and where should I bump it to, to get 3Mhz.

as long as you keep it under 1.5V all you should worry about is temps ( use coretemp )

well just bumped up the voltage to 1.25 and am stable at 3Mhz, Core 1 temp is at 7C and Core 2 at 8c under no load, both cores go up 15c under full load to 22c and 23c respectively.
