Best size fan for Accelero Video Card Cooler

This is the Arctic Cooler Accelero S1 Revision 2 on an 8800GT

It can be used with no fan, it held temps of 42-44 on idle, 55-60 under the default 3DMark06. With the Arctic Cooling 'Turbo Module'

Temps were around 40 at idle and 52 peak. However, keeping its own cable and the SATA cables from its exposed blades is a major inconvenience.

Replacing them with a single 120mm I happened to have (a Cooler Master case fan from my CM-690 rated at 21dBa and 44cfm the temps are 34-35 idle and 42 peak on the 3DMark02.

However, the single 120mm does not reach the end heat pipes. Would a pair of 92mm fans, covering the full width of the HSF be better? In addition to forcing air over the fins around all 4 heat pipes, it would blow on all the memory and regulators.

However, 92mm generally blow a lot less than a single 120. And the height of this card fits a 120mm nicely, a 92mm would leave over an inch uncovered vertically.

What do you think?

I had 2 120mm fans blowing on my X1900XT w/ Accelero S1. Compared to just having one 120mm fan, the idle and load temps were the same. It made no difference for me If you have good enough airflow in your case, then the back air inlet for the Accelero should cool the front half (front=dvi ports) adequately while adding a 120mm fan on the back half should help.
