Can I blame SP1, or is it more likely something else. Drivers and DX10 are both fresh installs.

Sux.
Wait.... it should improve

Well, like I said my original testing was a week ago so I can't even be 100% that it is SP1 causing the drop. Lots of crap has been installed and uninstalled since.

My SP1 upgrade gave marginal improvements in 3dmark. Should not reduce it though. Biggest difference is responsiveness during gaming; it doesn't hang as much as it did.

Did you install any new drivers? If so, go back to the old ones. Did you have any other programs running while scoring 3dmark? 900 points is alot. Check cpu vs. gpu scores also.

If you want the best, get a cheap OEM XP cd. Its ridiculous how much better it is at gaming.

Naa, I checked. CPU usage was 0, and Vista was eating a gig of RAM as usual. It's funny how it uses exactly a gig. I'm just rackin my brain trying to remember everything I've done since my original 3DMark runs.

This isn't enough reason for me to go back to XP, even as a dual boot. I've made my decision, gonna live with it.
