Jamy, sorry for the late response...been busy at work this week.

HT (hypertransport ie. 1000Mhz) and HTT (reference clock speed ie. 200mhz) are different.

That's an interesting question...I'm not entirely sure on that. However I do know a memory frequency of 150Mhz will offer substantial lower bandwidth versus the factory 200mhz. Adjusting the divider could bring you closer to factory if not higher and still allow for a 300HTT overclock. Make sure to run memtest before booting into the OS to test for stability.

Itz Divided to that of the CPU FSB xactly [eg: if FSB=300, then DRAM freq=150. wat Bout Another 150 ?????]. Or is it bcoz its DDR=Double Data Rate i.e always Doubles the data..???? Or Y it so called a memory divider...???
That's correct, DDR is double data rate so that is the frequency speed * 2. So DDR400 is 200Mhz (200*2).

Increasing the VDimm (voltage) can typically allow for tighter timings in most cases. My memory for example does not gain anything when increasing the VDimm.

Definitely yes. A 4400+ X2 is a nice upgrade from a single core 3000+. Do you have plans to overclock this 4400+ anytime soon?

Good luck

Yes.. yes.. OfCoz i hav A big Plan 2 do it...and thatz y i had 2 replace the Stock cooler too at the same time Any Suggestions R WelCOmE....

But before overclocking this time .., i even thot f clearing ma confusions i had during ma last overclock on Athlon64.

So 4 ma new Proccy i guess the HT level is 2000Mhz. But I cud read from som sites that, even itz above 1000Mhz HT, its Always better 2 keep 1000 or below it. how Far this is true...?!?!

But I think.., its always better 2 find a hit wall for the memory first. So that it wont b a limiting factor for the CPU to Overclock.. right think3r...???

Do u hav any idea About the Perfect and Best Timing, Vdimm and Divider 4 ma memory..???? So that it wud b a bit handy 4 me 2 go Furhter...

Thankx 4 ur Response..
Hav a Great WeekenD....

JamY, for Socket 939 processors it's best to keep the HT speed below 1000Mhz. In some instances faster boot times are gained with a higher HT speed but from what I've read that is about it. Keep it above 680Mhz and below 1100Mhz.

Good idea on trying to test your memory first. I typically like to test each component first as well. I prefer to isolate each component(motherboard, processor and memory) so I know it's maximum safe limit.

For your memory, do you plan on staying with the 2x1GB Transcend kit?

Good luck

Yes... Ofcoz ..., Neva hav a Plan 2 change it as its new. . . And Obviously DDR Modules r Hard 2 find now nd itz toooo Xpensive...

Let me try 2 burst out the max from ma Transcend kit... Do u think this memory is not handy for Over clocking...????!?!?

JamY, well it really depends on what type of IC's are on the memory. That usually will give us an idea of what your memory might be capable of in terms of sub-timings and frequency. Of course you really won't find out until you start pushing the memory

Good luck buddy

Well think3r.., the IC is based on hynix chips...
More Specifically itz :
hynix 811A
HY5DU12822CTP-D43
KOR
Is that Info helpful................?!??!?!???!

JamY, Hynix D43's are eh ok. I have D43's on my GSkill set and I haven't had great luck with them. Perhaps your luck will be better then mine. I was able to achieve a maximum frequency of 244Mhz with 2.8VDimm and the tightest sub-timings were 2.5-2-3-5 (stock is 2.5-3-3-6). Anything below case 2.5 was a no go and a command rate of 1T was never possible.

Hope that helps

Well think3r.., it was 2da i juz started overclocking ma new Proccy... So after Som effort that i hav put 4 this , i cud achieve a boost of Juz 330 Mhz overclock on ma Proccy.. I wonder Y Ma Proccessor Deny 2 go further.. . My old Athlon64 Venice cud hit an overclock of Xtra 900 Mhz.

But y this happens 2 Athlon X2..??? Also Temp always stayed @ 55°C.

Now iam running My Proccy @ :-
2530Mhz [Stock : 2200Mhz], i.e 230x11
And RAM Freq @ 230 i.e Divider = 400Mhz, CAS:- 3-3-3-8

I even tried 2 push the CPU more after keeping the RAM Divider lower. But RAM Dsnt hav a Pro Here.

Unfortunately the Option 4 the Vcore voltage is limited this time, i.e Only up to 1.5 max [Compared to ma last processor i had the choice for more than 1.6 i guess]

I had a Great intention 2 hit 3Ghz While i was buying this Processor. I think iam lost somwhere
Is there ny way that i can Push more..???

JamY, can you include some cpu-z screen shots of your current overclock (230x11)? Include each tab if you can. You shouldn't have to apply that much Vcore already. What is your HT multiplier set at? Perhaps your HT speed is limiting you from going any further.

Let us know

Good luck buddy

No.. HT is always maintained below 1000 Mhz. for eg: now itz 920Mhz.
Unless i raise the vcore my system cant even boot up. Think3r plz note that ma Processor's Thermal Power Design is 110W. May b bcoz it need more juice 2 fullfill its thirst..
Here are the latest cpuz screen shots :-

Is this the only xtra boost that can b squeezed from this stuff...?!?!?

Well , for the above configuration i hav tested the CPU with Orthos for 8 hrs without fail and Ram with memtest86 for 5 passes [6 hrs] succesfuly. But unfortunatly wen i test the RAM with Orthos, it suddenly stops with an error message.. Y is it so..????? If it can pass with 'memtest86' , then y this happens wen it comes to 'orthos'...???? For now the vdimm is 2.8 , unless its not stable.
