OCZ mem compatibility issues on an Asus P5K

Thread Starter
Greetings,

2 gigs of OCZ 6400 worked fine for a while on my P5K, then I installed 2 more of the exact model ( 4 gigs plat. 6400) and it worked. The next time I turned on my comp it suddenly only read 2 gigs of it even tho i have 4 installed. Does anyone know if there is a way to get OCZ to work with Asus board no matter what? Thanks.

if not I I'm selling them for 80 bucks hardly used condition.

No shouldnt matter if its 32 bit or 64 bit

32 bit can read like 3 gigs of ram anyway.

Also when u put more sticks in 4x1gb u put more stress on ure North Bridge.

So whats ure voltages atm ?

Default settings, I'm on a dif comp cuz my CPU died for some reason...basically the highest voltage for 5-5-5-17 cuz I stopped OCing so I could try to get all 4 gigs working and not worry about changed settings. The board was built to handle at least 4 gigs of 6400.

I got the excat same board as you, put the voltage up to 2.1, that should help. Having 6GB helped though, because two of the sticks having different timings, therefore had to put 5-4-4-12 and worked. Remember to keep the timings all the same other wise you,ll get BSODs.

So 2.1v on my Northbridge? See I dont wanna get too off topic here cuz my new CpU just came in and now my damb board wont even post (with hooking the power just to the mobo) I've tried ever stick by itself in each slot (out of despiration) and reset my BIOS. Basically I heard that OCZ mem isnt always compatible with Asus and I need to know if its possible of should I just sell them and get another brand.

NOO! That will damage the NB. Not the voltage for the NB, but the ram voltage. I have mine set to 2.1v also.
