The card is not in the PC at the moment. I will try this in a bit and report back. The IDE cable I was using is currently being used by my DVD drive so I'm bouncing between both drives as my mobo only has 1 IDE. The cable definitely works!
No problem... as I hope that is the answer to the issue.

It would really suck to lose your data over something stupid with the HDD. Good luck!

Thread Starter
Sorry to bump after such a long time. I've been quite busy and having just tried all advice I've come to no conclusion.

Here's what I've come up with. Both my BIOS and SeaTools see the drive but can do nothing with it. SeaTools can't inquire/test it etc (see pic). I've read online that there is some sort of firmware corruption with these drives?

I have also tried putting into a USB external drive as suggested which doesn't work either. I have also tried hooking it up to a mate's PC and still get nothing.

I am convinced this is something to do with the same corruption problem other people have come up with. Annoyingly I guess that's the end of this HDD's story.

Bugger.
