Any Good 140mm Fans?

Thread Starter
I want a quiet fan for the side panel on my Cooler-Master CM690. I saw this 140mm, 500 RPM fan on a monster HSF at Frosty Tech:
http://www.frostytech.com/articlevie...articleID=2258

The article says the fan is a Scythe SY1425SL12L.
Does anyone know where I can get one of these?

Thanks, Butzi.

From the Scythe site, the fan is rated at 29.39cfm at 10.8 decibles. very quiet, not enough flow IMO:

2 x Yate Loon Fans + 1 Evercool:

http://www.nexfan.com/140mmcasefans.html

And the Aerocool fans from Newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...540&name=140mm

Evidently the 140mm fan is the neglected fan size, and is lacking in selection really.

EDIT - The fan of the Orachi is apparently silent, and really doesn't provide much (enough) airflow across the heat sink. The fans listed show higher CFM, probabbly at the expense of noise.

Hey Duff,

Thanks for the links (+REP). I've got enough air running front-to-back, really. I just want some fresh air hitting the stock Intel HSF from the side (straight-on to the fan axis). If I can't get a low(noise) and slow 140mm, I will probably go with the 800 RPM Noctua 120mm fan. It's very quiet and moves enough air for what I want. It also comes with the rubber mounting "pins", which should help.

I'm starting to see why some people hate side mount fans. I have a 120mm Scythe Mineba on there now, and it raelly rattles the side panel. Even after I added damping material to the panel. I'm not a total noise freak per se, but this one fan on the side panel makes more noise than everything else. It just seems that if I can make this one quiet, it'll make a big difference.

Thanks, Butzi.
