Thanks for this. I was ignorantly reading the specs wrong.

I read somewhere that you need 60A on the 12V for 2900CF.

Thats my feeling as well. Considering that its only using 350w@ full load.

Yeah I've seen that, I know ATI tends to overstate requirements though. I think I may just be ok as well.

I would upgrade, PCP&P or a nice Silverstone.
The 8-pin really isn't needed. You can just just jumpers to complete the 8-pin.

The TDP of the 2900XT is something like 210w (correct me if I am wrong)? The PCIe slot provides 75w while each PCIe plug providing 75w as well. That means 225w can be provided to the card. The 8-pin, 6-pin, and PCIe slot would be able to do 300w. However, I seriously doubt that the card will ever need over 200w even if heavily overclocked.
Once again...

Up to 215W for each at stock and additional 130w for overclocking.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I really appreciate it. The consensus seems to be that my present PSU should manage so I'm gonna give it a go. Already ordered a couple of these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812887001

I think this PSU should be able to manage the load and I don't plan to OC these anyway.

I'll post back with some feedback when the 2nd 2900 comes in on Friday.

Nope. Just a few VIVO cables and some adapters. I think some of the board makers like HIS or Sapphire might have included them but the ATI retail ones didn't.

That sucks, did you at least get crossfire bridges? I'd offer to ship you my Molex-6 pins but it would probably take for freaking ever. (canada post FTL)

The second card (from ebay) doesn't have a CF bridge so I ordered one of those and the 2 adapters from Newegg. They should be here in a couple days. Thanks for the offer though.

Got the new card this morning all cables connectors bridges etc. I'm having some problems though. After installing drivers and such, every thing is recognized and I've tested the new card to make sure it's working ok.

I've tried to run 3dmark06 but it shuts down everything after about midway through the first test (Proxycon). I've had it crash on me consistently C0D4 after a few minutes of play. I have a power monitor connected to the pc and its drawing about 600w at full load(PSU is 700w). I'm using only 1 CF bridge.

Unless anybody has some advice about this, I guess I'm looking at a new PSU. Damn!
