remove cap. limit jumper after OS is isntalled?

Thread Starter
ok so I know this is old skewl but I am trying to get things working again on a Pentium 2 rig.

I could not the the the thing to boot past the IDE detect stage without putting a jumper on the HDD to limit capacity to 32 gigs on an 80 gig drive

now my question is, Can I remove the jumper now that windows is installed? or will that cause a world of problems if i do that.

I would like to be able to use the other space if i can for file storage

Have you tried a BIOS update on that motherboard? What OS are you using?

Would the HD happen to be formatted as FAT32?
