Nvidia has always been more expensive, and maybe it was because previously they had been doing better, but now they aren't at the top in most categories but are still consistently higher priced.
I don't know, I mean, why is it that there are far more people, according to Valve, that are using nVidia vid cards than ATI? Remember not too long ago they gave out free demos of Portal to people using nVidia cards after the numbers were tallied? That wasn't to push sales either, it was a friggin demo.
I used an X1800XT, and it had pretty decent performance, but I was quite annoyed by the BSODs I kept getting while using it. Never had that with nVidia cards before. After that, I am permanently with nVidia.
One more thing to point out is the "top of the performance" with the X2? I'm sure this is based solely on 3DMark 06 results, which, as we all know, isn't an indication of real-world performance. Not to say that they aren't good cards, I'm just pointing out that any lead will be short-lived since the GX2 and GTX are about to be released.
