I have some questions with the E2160

Thread Starter
Hey guys

I ordered the E2160 along with the GA-P35-DS3L and 2GB XMS2 DHX PC6400 RAM. I'm looking for OC'ing the CPU, my goal is 3.0GHz. So since it's gonna be arriving really soon (this week), what's the first step I should do to start OC'ing. I've read reviews talking about just increasing the FBS to 333 to achieve 3.0GHz (333 x 9 multiplier)

What's the easiest way to get to 3.0GHz. Should I follow the "take baby steps" rule?

THanks in advance guys!

Going straight to FSB 333 is a fine and easy way to do it. The DS3L can hands down do that FSB with no extra volts, and if you run the RAM 1:1 (which is memory multi +2.00) thats only 667Mhz which almost all RAM can do, including value.

Bump the FSB to 333 right off the start

Ok guys thanks! I'll post any help if I do need it. So just raise FSB to 333 and I should be good to go with 3.0GHz right? BTW I'm gonna be using Freezer 7 Pro for cooling so it should run stable right?

Thanks again guys!

Well you put your FSB to 333 but you'll have to adjust your RAM speed as the CPU:RAM speeds need to be changed

Ok got it thanks. So basically what I can do is:

To start with, set FSB to 300 (2700MHz with 9x) and from there start upping the FSB and checking stability and raise CPU volt by single notches until I reach my highest stable temps. Any comments?

Thanks
