Why? The P5N-e is perfect for your CPU. I'd rather get a new Graphicscard first

I second that Usually your CPU is the limit, not the motherboard.

I agree with the other lads here, change your GFX card to a 9600GT or 8800GT, that way you will see a big difference in gaming. Also if you are feeling flush buy a decent 19" LCD monitor.

Go for a P35 Chipset Motherboard. Get at least a DFI DK series, ASUS P5K-E series, GIGABYTE DS3 series (not the DS3L).

I didn't think the P5N-E was that suited for quads from what I've read. Pick up a GigaByte P35-DS3L or DS3R.

p5n-e is very difficult to get to 3ghz let alone past it. Another board all depends on future plans, if sli, go 680i or 780i, i went for an xfx 780 and love it. If cross fire or just single graphics card in the future look p35 or x38. My p5n-e couldnt get past 2.8.

I'm replacing my P5N-E SLI for the 3rd time. And while trying to get an RMA, they gav me the run around. The moment I get the new board back from RMA, I'm selling it, and getting the GA-P35-DS4 rev 2. I absolutely hated the P5N-e, and will never look back. And There is a whole thread dedicated to the P5N-E SLI, and they even mention that this board is not that good with quads. So to the first few posts saying that it is a good board for quads, where is your proof?

The P5n-e is horrible for quads... horrible. I just replaced mine. Dont get me wrong when the board came out it was an amazing deal because i had an e6400. Anyway i bought a q6600 and soon replaced mine P5n-e with the P5e, i wanted to stick with DDR2 but i didnt need SLI nor did i want a high high end board. My other suggestion is the maximus formula.

I had this bored for a year until I recently built my new system. I loved the board but I've had no experience with the quads so I don't know about that. But I loved the OC options and I thought the board ran great. But everyone has different opinions. I've heard so many complain about my current EVGA 680i T1 board for quads too, but I love this board.
