I'm sorry, for you information, your system uses ~600W of power under an entire system load.

In re: to his specs, they don't look too too bad, I mean an 8600GT is fine if you play older games, or none at all, and it looked like he had pretty decent ram in there. I am fairly new to this forum, long time looker turned poster, and honestly, there are some raging ego's around here (I am not referring to anyone in this thread - I appreciate the fact that you gave him some sound advice). I mean, I like my rig, yes, it'll whoop the hell out of a lot of other rigs, but in the end, I built it to suit my needs, not so I could boost my ego. I see some nice rigs on here, and some *****boxes, in the end, we're all interested in the same stuff, and should be proud of what we accomplish, whether it's a 45nm Quad with 8GB ram and Tri-SLI, or a budget system worth half the cost of an 8800GTX. We should encourage fellow techies, not knock them down because their specs don't match up with what we think they should.
that 8600 will keep up with your 1950 just in case you didnt know, it is an underrated card and will keep up with the top dx9 cards

Yeah 8600GT's get trash talked because the 8800 series was so much better.
I have one in another system, and it can play new games pretty good considering what it is.
Buying one now would be a waste though, with the 9600GT, 3850, and 8800GS.

I have 2 X1950's in Crossfire, I'd smoke 'em.

Actually, my sig is a bit misleading, my P5W is out for an RMA. I picked up a P5N-E SLI to tide me over for a couple of weeks, and am using my spare 8800GTS (G80) until I get the P5W back. Everything else is the same though.

The 8600 isn't bad though, you're right, it will keep up with higher end DX9 card, when using DX9. Right now, the 8600 is actually one of the price/ performance gems for light/ moderate gamers, and HTPC folks.

Yeah... but if you post on Youtube for all the world to see, then let the chips fall where they may.

8600 is NOT a good card. So I dont know what rock you have been laying under for the last year. I think it was nvidias worst card. 7600gt comes close to it.
