Help !! 12v on my Asus A-55GA dropped

Thread Starter
I need some help overhere ..

In October , the first month I used Asus A-55GA PowerSupply my 12v rate is always 11.93v , which i think it was okay.

In December , When i get my liquid cooling system and start overclocking
my 12v rate is 11.87 and dropped to 11.84 when running 3dmark06's test

In January , I changed my motherboard from Asus P5K-C to Asus P5K-E Wifi
and start using 8pin for CPU power and overclock more ( from 3.0 to 3.6 )
now my rate of 12v dropped to 11.76v and 11.70v when 3d testing

so i have to increase my cpu voltage to make it stay stable.

can anyone give me some advice ... what should I do with it ?

it shouldnt. like all programs read my PCPC at 11V but the bios reads it at 12.04. i would check in your bios. and as for the drop during load that is normal on lower PSUs. mine only has a drop of .01 under load.

Like G|F.E.A.D|Killa said, software is KNOWN to be way off. Even then, the voltages being reported are STILL within spec.

If the "stability" issues started after you switched the motherboard and all you switched out was the board, I would be more suspect of the new board than the PSU.

Right... but the 4-pin and 8-pin get their juice from the same source. Because you're using one connector over the other really doesn't change anything other than less resistance in that lead because you have more conductors providing power (which is a good thing, not a bad thing.)
