Which AV do you use on Vista? - Page 5

I don't use any AV on my system and I have it DMZed through the firewall. The simpliest way to protect yourself is to download from trustworthy sources (yes, that means no limewire). I download tons of stuff from bittorent, but I only use sites with user comments, and wait until the overall consensus is that the file is clean.

But if you are looking for a good AV, I suggest NOD32.

Vista is like Linux pretty much now, don't give programs Administrator/Root access and they can't do jack. I use no anti-virus and strongly advise against it on Vista machines because it is simply a waste of time money and performance.

I hope you have a GOOD firewall on your computer.

I use the free version of Avast. I've tried AVG also, but I like Avast a bit more.

And if you only use Avast, or AVG for virus protection, that is not protecting you from spyware. They work different. This is why I use Kaspersky or Trend Micro because they give virus, spyware and software firewall protection. But yes do use your head because it doesn't matter what protection you have if you give the infiltrators direct access to your computer.
Stop visiting the whore's crotch of the internet and perhaps you won't get AIDS... I do not have viruses; if I did they're benign (much like your HPV).
