new intel build....need advice

hey guys, im not looking to spend much, but im wanting to see what the all the fuss is about with c2d.

Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L Intel P31 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (£52.86)

Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 2.66GHz (1333FSB)

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit

total is £230 shipped.

any ideas / input?

Looks good. P31 and P35 belong to Intel Bearlake chipset. P31 is the trimmed version of P35 so it should be fine for E8200. If you can find the P35-DS3L, get the P35-DS3L.

I would definitely get the P 35 if you can, since its popularity will also make it more likely that all the kinks are worked out in the BIOS, you get the Rev 2.0 board, etc. I don't know that 1066 rated memory is worth the extra money, although it might guarantee you double sided Ballistix in this case, which IS worth the extra money.
