The good-
-IE settings transfer wizard is great and works well.
-The image loading is massively improved from older versions
-Native style skin - looks nice with vista
-It seems to start up faster than FF2
-Web pages 'feel' like they load quicker than IE
-The bookmark button on the address bar is great. Just click the star and its favouritised, could be a feture I can't live without.

The bad-

-The History menu in toolbar is fairly useless to me
-Seems to be no way to properly DISABLE tabs
-Status bar seems minimalist compared to ie7 (but thats personal preference)
-Stop/Refresh button is not combined out of the box
-If the address bar could be transparent like ie7 that would be the s3x, but I guess M$ is keeping that secret close to their chests (Plus its an integral feature of explorer)

The Ugly-
-The back forward buttons look really ugly to me [opinion].
-The hover style over the menubar items (file, edit etc.) is ugly. They should have stuck to the windows style mouse-overs - solid colour background not 3d effect.
-The menu bar is too narrow. I prefer symmetry. The menubar should be the same height as it is in ie7/explorer to totally integrate with the shell.

Overall I am very impressed. It seems much better than firefox 2. I still don't think it will make me give up ie7 but who knows what it will be like when released.
Like I said, to each his own, those are all personal preferences. Most people like tabbed browsing, and FF with fasterfox plugin is for sure faster than IE, if not already faster without it.

Preference wise, they are both great, but most people weigh the benefits of FF over IE. As said a hundred times, it's preference.

I, personally, hate the refresh/go button in IE. Makes me so mad, plus IE freezes/crashes so randomly. I can't stand it.

Yup I totally agree with you it is preference. I hate the placement of the refresh/stop buttons in ie7 (vista) too. I've only ever had it crash regularly with gmail (new gmail version sorted that out)

I was just giving people my impressions upon my first use of FF3. If you notice, I have more good points than bad. Ugly points can be fixed by plugins/skins so they arent an issue. I will force myself to use firefox 3 for a week, you never know, I may get hooked yet.

WOAH! you are way out of the norm for OCN. I'm guessing you don't do any web development do you? If you ever do, you will find out why people hate IE.

I have to use IE for one of my online classes and I think it is the worst application ever developed by man. It still uses active-X, doesn't work with Vista 64 (the plugin that they have never downloads for me), and slow as hell

Haven't been much into web development lately...
Plus, IE just works for me, been used to it, will probably switch to Opera sooner or later. (No viruses for me either)

You guys still use the buttons on your browsers? F5, Esc, and BckSpc FTW.

At least those apply to Firefox, I haven't touched IE in years, to test them.
