[Incomplete] Tinkering with my Centurion 5

I have an extra case laying around and some extra parts as well. I am planning an upgrade soon to my main rig, and want to mod my main case so this is another chance to practice.

Basically I wanted to elicit some suggestions from the crew here. I'm sticking with air cooling, but anything else I'd be willing to try if I have the parts/tools.

First off here is the stock case:

Not much to say there really.

Here is the case stripped of the front panel and the side panels:

Here are the cages stripped down:

My first idea was to strip the bottom cage out, but I'm not sure if that would cause instability in the top 5.25 cage.

I would like to repaint the gray portions of the interior. The obvious color there would be black.

I could cut out and put on a side panel.

I have an extra 140mm fan I bought a while back. I was thinking of mounting it in the top cage to get better air flow into the case.

I bought a few of the scythe antivibration kits that I was thinking of using for the harddrives in the top cage. (assuming I end up stripping out the bottom of course).

Any other suggestions?

Yes you can strip out the bottom cage, these cases are quite sturdy.
I am pretty sure you could mount a 140 in the top bays. If possible do it, that would be awesome. Also cut out the mesh behind the fans for better air flow. Maybe have a top exhaust to equal out the in/out flow.

LOL well this one isn't happening. I managed to severely damage the case last night trying to start the mods. Apparently my hole cutters are not up to task...it actually heated the metal up and warped the case. So I did learn that i needed to make sure my hole cutters work for what I need

A valuable lesson indeed. I have bought sooo many tools since the start of my last build. That is too bad, I really wanted to see a 140 in the front of a c5.
