GA-P35-DS3L not running dual channel

Thread Starter
The title says it all... I've tried two different types of ram, the current is crucial ballistix 1066 2x1gb... When I boot up it says it's running it in "Single Channel"... which is not what I want... How do I make my computer run in dual channel mode?

You look in the bios? I would imagine it would automatically run dual channel if placed right. You sure you got the sticks in the board properly?

90% of boards use the 1,2,1,2 type pattern. Meaning you use either 1 and 1 or 2 and 2 for dual channel, not 1 and 2.

Are you sure they are in the correct slots? (as in same color) Have you tried both 1-3 and 2-4 combinations? Are both moduals being recognized? I have the same board and never had an issue. It should be automatic.

I'll try rearranging them and see what happens... I can't say I've ever had to do that :-P

Could have a bad slot. Never heard of it not running dual channel. Usually if it is bad, it just plain wouldn't work.

I think he's hiding the fact he probably put a 1,2 combo or 3,4 like you said instead of 1,3 or 2,4

lol, it isn't always as easy as you'd think. I have had a few boards that I had to look in the manual. Most newer ones are color coded now, though.
