Honestly, I'm glad I chose the C&C, it's been a great amp for the numerous bus rides back and forth from college to home. I am moving up this summer to a dedicated amp - just haven't decided which one though.

The Mini3 is what I would have bought had I been into headphones for a couple of more months. Even now I think I would happy with it and the $125 price tag rather than spending the $4-500 that my next amp will probably cost O_o.
Rofl I hear yeah, after my amp im buying a new set of cans/amp. and to recable the cans i want, is about 150$-200 so GOSH, all this good music is killin me.
thanks for your help!

it's an expensive hobby... but every time you put on your favorite album and are transported to your special place all the dollars spent are worth it!

(still trying to convince my wife of that...)

Yep, wife/girlfreind = audio fun killer . Just how did you convince your wife to let you get that $1600 amp? .

I'd would get the mini^3 as well, sounds like a superb portable amp .

in all seriousness a bass boost of sorts could be added to the mini3, but you would probably have to have a desktop version then and I wouldn't know how to create the circuit to add the boost. Honestly, I wouldn't. I like to listen to music as it was intended to be heard so no boosts for me. If I do anything EQ wise it would be to even out the frequency response of the room (speakers)

There are a couple of 'pro' mini3 builders who charge around $125-135 a pop. The unit I reviewed was supplied by Mister X. Yes, I could build one, but I don't stock the parts or anything like that and I've still got to get the Millet Max fully cased up that I've been working on, then build another and possibly a third. there just aren't enough hours in the day!

I buy most of my gear used.

My wife makes me sell my old gear before buying new now though... it's not as exciting as I can't always do a side by side comparison anymore.

My wife appreciates the sound, just not what it does to the checkbook!

yeah, go to amb labs website and there's some reading on the amp and a list of builders. Expect to pay $125+ depending on the configuration you want.

I'm more than willing to help out fellow OCN'ers but please keep in mind that I'm very busy and you would have to wait.
