vcore or bios cpu voltage?

Thread Starter
I am currently on an overclock mission with my rig ... I have lightly read thru C2D and Quad Temp guide by Computronix ... which still confuses me slightly although I get the gist of it. I do however wonder over cpu voltage ... in the bios of the ASUS striker II formula I am setting cpu voltages way over recommended by intel for the c2d E6750

sSpec Number: SLA9V
CPU Speed: 2.66 GHz
PCG: 06
Bus Speed: 1333 MHz
Bus/Core Ratio: 8
L2 Cache Size: 4 MB
L2 Cache Speed: 2.66 GHz
Package Type: LGA775
Manufacturing Technology: 65 nm
Core Stepping: G0
CPUID String: 06FBh
Thermal Design Power: 65W
Thermal Specification: 72°C
VID Voltage Range: 0.85V – 1.5V

however to overclock to around 3.66ghz which is my target I am setting bios cpu voltages to 1.56+ ... CPUZ reports 1.45ish (idle) and 1.424ish (load) along with speedfan reporting 1.46 / 1.42 respectively ... can I take it that CPUZ & SPEEDFAN are correct and that along with the fact my TJunction load temps are @ 79c according to Core Temp when running orthos and max load temps running 3dmark are 70c .... Am i gonna burnout the cpu?

79° is WAY to high, you shouldn't be going over 72° at the highest
