1.6+ vcore?????

is there any reason i shouldn't run a vcore this high as long as temps are still under the 50-55C range?

Electron migration. Overvolting your processor will decrease its lifespan regardless of temperatures.

With voltages 1.6 and higher, you really can't determine what the effect will be.

At voltages that high, it all depends on the grade of your processor, you processor might be able to take it, or it might burn it out, or it might simply slightly damage it so it requires more voltage for future OCs (the effect of electro migration).

Honestly, you can probably do some suicide runs with 1.6, but you are taking a small chance, and don't leave it that high, or electromigration will happen.

Much higher than the low 1.5c range won't likely produce much more speed on air.
Provided you cooling is adequate and you don't exceed the safe max temp and fry the CPU, have fun

I used to bench my brisbane 3600+ on 1.7v, and that lived a long and happy life. But yeah, wouldn't leave any 65nm chip over 1.55v for everyday use...

For electron migration over time is the issue:

what is set in the BIOS (in my case 1.5V for my initial stability testing; since lowered to 1.475 and still stable);

OR what CPU-Z and Hardware Monitor report under 100% load [Orthos] (in my case between 1.6 & 1.7V)?

AMD chips do not have vdroop.
vdroop is an intentially designed drop is voltage at load, and not a lower reported voltage from one set in bios which the term has been confused with.
