speedstepping and halt state were disabled as default was that different on your board ? maybe the bios options are a little different between the two boards.

yes, but vdroop drops it all the time, so i figure if i want 1.45v i have to set it to 1.5 in bios because of vdroop...but ive read it doesnt require nearly that high a voltage.

Disabling Spread Spectrum increases stability and so does increasing the vcore voktage but keep an eye on the temps. For a Q6600 the vcore shouldn't go any higher than 1.45

Try doing a 1:1 clock.

Go into your bios settings and set "linked" and "Synchronous." as a precaution set ram to defaults or looser, then set your QDR to 1333. Your starting Core volts should be 1.35v as a start (due to vdroop), your sb should auto to 1.5, set your FSB volts to 1.3 as well.

Your ram will run at 667Mhz but it should be stable. See what you can do after that.

You set the vcore to 1.5 and you can't hit 3.0GHz? Ouch.
