Network Printer Problems

Thread Starter
I am running Windows Vista x86, my parents computer is running XP SP2. They are the ones with the printer hooked up and our computers are linked to a Linksys router. I cannot seem to be able to print via their printer and I am pretty sure that this is possible. What do I need to do to achieve this?

OK, I used the driver disc. During installation, I checked the box that said I would need to plug in the device later. After driver installation, I went to CP and clicked "Add a Printer". However, while trying to set this up, the wizard couldn't seem to find the network printer and I needed to browse for it. I came up with this.

I'm not sure??? When I click on Network, I am able to see the other computer next to my router and myself if that's what you mean...

Edit: Actually, no they are not. The xp machine is on mshome, mine is on workgroup.

There is no password to log on to either machine. We only have one user per computer. Also, I have it set so that the printer is shared.

Sounds like Windows Firewall problem or On vista you have the network setup as a private network and for some reason I have never been able to get the printer to work when vista has a private network setup.
